Salesforce Summer '23 Release – Key Dates and Preview Information
It's summertime for Salesforce, and that means their Summer '23 release is almost here! While there are typically several items to prepare for with each release, currently there are only two important things to keep in mind:
Preparing your sandbox,
Knowing when your instance will be upgraded.
Release Date for Salesforce Summer '23
The initial thing to note is the date when your production instance will be updated to the Salesforce Summer '23 release. It's crucial to test all significant use cases in your org before this date to guarantee smooth operation. Although Salesforce updates usually have minimal bugs, it's still essential to conduct these checks.
The Summer '23 Release date for Salesforce will vary depending on your instance, however, the primary release weekends are:
May 6, 2023
June 3, 2023
June 10, 2023
If you are aware of the instance your production org is located on, you can visit Salesforce Trust, select your instance name, and click on "Maintenance". This will display the date when the Salesforce Summer '23 release will arrive at your org However, If you are unaware of your instance, the easiest way to find out is by going to "company information" in "Setup" on your Salesforce platform.
Summer ’23 Sandbox Preview Information
Salesforce has two different timeframes for upgrading sandboxes, which depend on whether your sandbox is categorized as a "Preview" or "Non-Preview" instance, but it appears that the majority of sandboxes will be upgraded on May 5th and 6th, 2023.
Summer ’23 Pre-Release Org
As stated earlier, pre-release orgs are an excellent way to become acquainted with the upcoming release before it reaches your sandboxes. These orgs will be accessible starting from April 13th.
Summer ’23 Release Notes
While the dates mentioned earlier are significant during the Salesforce release cycle, the most awaited date is when the official "Salesforce Release Notes" become available. It is the first look at the latest features and upgrades being implemented in the Salesforce suite of products. The Release Notes for Summer '23 are scheduled to be released on April 26th.
